Spent 2 peaceful nights at Trails End. It is indeed a dead end road so there is no traffic, and coming mid week there was very little noise at all from other houses. The property is covered in beautiful blue Virginia Bluebells in early April, and early morning on the deck I heard so many song birds! The house is very comfortable, and the wood burning stove was a favorite. As other reviewers have noted, there are a lot of steps involved, as the main living space is on the second level. I found preferred to to use the outdoor deck steps, as the indoor ones seemed a little more steep to me (and to my dog). Our only disappointment was with the river access — it seems that the bank has eroded somewhat and also the water level was low so there really isn't anywhere to go "in" the river but you can stand on the back and admire the river and hear the sound of the falls just around the bend.

What a wonderful weekend and able to have family come stay! Staff is super kind also. Everything was clean and decorated nicely. There are steps to go up to the kitchen area so if you have problem with steps this property is not for you!! What a beautiful property! We enjoyed the hot tub, (it worked perfect) fire pit as well as the water access where we went for walks and enjoyed the Fall foliage that was amazing!! Thank you to Nichol for helping me find this place at last minute and nice to meet Patty the house keeper.

Very clean, had everything. I just didn’t realize how many steps in the cabin but that was my fault for not looking close enough. Besides that the place was perfect

We had just arrived and backed up to the deck to unload. We were not expecting stairs to get up to the apartment. Wife has 2 bad knees and I have one bad one. While unloading a large 12 foot long branch fell from the tree onto our truck and bounced and rolled off t he side putting some nice scratches in it. Monday night we had a power outage for less than a minute but came right back on around 2am. Tuesday we rode the trails and checked the hot tub when returning. Water was barely luke warm and the display was out. May have shut down with the outage so we could not use that. Otherwise it was good. We actually noticed 6 houses before this one we rented the little red cabin many years ago. We thought the area looked familiar.

Good place for a weekend away. Mostly quiet neighborhood. Positive: Clean, easy access and screen porch. Negative: Jets on hot tub only work at half strength, tap water has sewage smell, river access is minimal
